ORLANDO -- A bumpy ride is giving some drivers road rage, and the city says they don't know when the problem will be solved.
Kaley Street between Mills and Ferncreek avenues is full of broken, uneven bricks. Boone High School and Kaley Elementary School are nearby.
The speed limit is 25 miles per hour, but some drivers said you can't go that fast without messing up your car or giving yourself a jolt.
The quarter of a mile stretch reopened Friday after being closed for about a month while crews laid a storm sewer system.
Some drivers said it's worse than it was before.
“I drove on it the night before last and it's bumpy,” said Donna Detorres, a frustrated driver. “It's bad. I thought they fixed it. They closed it down for a month. I kind of thought they'd fix it."
"I slow down to almost a crawl of 5 miles per hour because I don't want to have the jarring suspension,” said Gary Roen. “So when I'm going 5 miles per hour, cars behind me start beeping at me because they don't like that I'm going 5 miles per hour, but I am protecting myself, protecting my car."
The city said the bricks are uneven because of the base material underneath.
Officials are aware of the problem, but said they will need to work out a time to repair it with the school systems.
