LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Video has been released of what might have been Michael Jackson's final performance -- rehearsals in the Staples Center in Los Angeles on June 23 for his sold-out 50-concert production in London.
The concerts were scheduled to start later this month. AEG -- the promoter of Jackson's London shows -- released the short video, which shows him singing "They Don't Really Care About Us," a song from his HIStory album.
In the video, Jackson seemed energetic in an exciting routine. But two days after the rehearsal, Jackson was dead.
Jermaine Jackson told NBC'S "Today" show that he saw his brother's body in the hospital.
"I kissed him on his forehead and I hugged him and touched him and I said, 'Michael, I'll never leave you. You'll never leave me,'" Jermaine Jackson said.
Meanwhile, it appears a public memorial for Jackson will be held next Tuesday at the Staples Center. Another site that had been discussed for a Jackson tribute was the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
A TV station says the mother of Michael Jackson's two eldest children wants custody of them.
KNBC in Los Angeles says in a report Thursday that Debbie Rowe intends to seek custody of 12-year-old Prince Michael and 11-year-old Paris Michael Katherine.
In a telephone interview that was not broadcast, Rowe also told the station she plans to seek a restraining order to keep Jackson's father Joe away from the children.
Michael Jackson's will named his mother Katherine Jackson as the guardian of his three children, including a child born to a surrogate mother. It also designated Diana Ross as their backup guardian.
Rowe said she would like to keep the children together, but the youngest is not hers. A guardianship hearing is scheduled Monday.
