Reported By Kelli Cook
ORLANDO -- The little girl who captured our hearts singing the national anthem before the Orlando Magic is keeping a pretty busy schedule.
Gina Incandela is autistic and used music to help deal with her disability.
As News 13's Kelli Cook found out, the 7-year-old continues to be a media darling.
From the moment Cook arrived for the interview, she realized this wasn't the same little girl. With all the press that the 7-year-old has now done, she certainly knows how to put on her own microphone.
"I know how to do that," Gina told Cook.
The first-grader with the booming voice came to fame by belting out the National Anthem at the Orlando Magic games during the playoffs, but now she has a new tune.
Gina's latest song is called "Butterfly" and she will be singing it with R&B icon Chaka Khan.
What Gina really wants people to know is that she's also singing with Disney star Drew Seeley and is going to be featured on a CD benefiting kids with autism. But that's not all.
"She is also working on a few of her own songs, some more original Gina songs, so she'll be back in the studios working on those as soon as she wraps up with Chaka Khan and Drew Seeley," said Michelle Incandela, Gina's mom.
This girl is a pro with her own fan base.
"She has fans now in Brazil, in Slovenia -- which I'm not even quite sure where that is -- but there are about 9,000 people that really like Gina on her Web site," Michelle said.
Gina has auditioned to sing at the U.S. Open, she has some talk shows lined up -- including The Daily Buzz next month -- and she'll be singing for a 4th of July event in Celebration, but she'll never forget how all this attention really began -- turning her golden pipes into a good luck charm for the Orlando Magic.
The family is sure to keep memorabila from their finals run -- a lifetime of memories that they'll never forget.
"I just want to say one more thing to my friends -- Never give up on your dreams," Gina said.
