MAITLAND -- The FBI said it is cracking down on people targeting others online, and are using the arrests of two men accused of being part of an extortion ring to prove it.
The FBI said hundreds and possibly thousands of victims of this computer hackers extortion ring exist.
Two of these hackers have been arrested for spying on children between the ages of 14 and 17 using the child's personal Web cam.
Investigators said Patrick Connolly, 36, and Ivory Dickerson worked together to extort money from teenagers in exchange for stolen images.
They allegedly gained access to computers using a variety of e-mail addresses and screen names.
“Even with security measures in place, like most of us have, hackers can still gain access to your personal computer and devices connected to them, such as web cams. Once in there, they can use your computer to spy on you," said Steven Ibison from the FBI.
The FBI is asking for more victims to come forward.
They believe many of the victims live in Florida, North Carolina and Canada.
