ORLANDO -- The woman suing Casey Anthony for defamation is not "Zanny the Nanny," Casey's brother confirmed at a deposition hearing Friday.
After answering questions for more than three hours, Lee Anthony said Zenaida Gonzalez, the woman suing Casey for defamation, is not the nanny of the same name Casey claimed kidnapped her murdered daughter, Caylee.
Attorneys for Gonzalez said Friday was the first step in clearing their client’s name.
Gonzalez said her life was ruined after her name was plastered all over the Caylee Anthony case. She said she needs to change her name, and until then, things will never be the same.
Lee Anthony was asked questions about his thoughts on Casey's innocence or guilt, which we're told he shied away from.
However, he did point out Gonzalez and said this is not the woman Casey described.
"He says through all this Zenaida Gonzalez stuff, it ain't that Zenaida Gonzalez. So hallelujah, we've taken one giant step in the right direction for our client through all these other convoluted stories that are being told," said Keith Mitnik, Gonzalez’s attorney.
“I'm very happy that point to me and say it was not that Zenaida Gonzalez,” Gonzalez said.
"I believe my sister at this point," Anthony said during the deposition.
Gonzalez' attorneys suspended the deposition. They said they will go to a judge to see if they can get some of the questions Anthony did not answer answered.
Anthony's attorney said his client will not answer any questions if members of the media are allowed in the room while the deposition was happening.
New Hearing Set For Monday In Casey Anthony Case
A new hearing date has been set for two motions filed by Casey Anthony's lawyer, Jose Baez.
One of the motions is asking a judge to stop the release of personal images of Casey's that were put on the Photobucket Web site.
Baez argues that the images were taken a year before Caylee disappeared and have no connection to the case.
In addition, Baez said the pictures will only embarrass Casey and may paint her in a negative light.
Meanwhile, Baez also filed a second motion to try to delay the release of a jailhouse video that allegedly shows Casey's reaction the day Caylee's remains were found.
Baez claims the video violates his client's Sixth Amendment right to have her lawyer present as well as her medical privacy rights under law.
The hearing for the motions is set for Monday at 4:15 p.m. at the Orange County Courthouse.
