VIERA -- A Brevard County woman is trying to change an ordinance that requires her to pick up her horse waste.
Back in August, Wanetta Dyer, the owner of Dyer Buggy Works, received letters saying that she was violating a county code which states that no animal is allowed to defecate or urinate on any public property.
The business is located in the rural area known as Canaveral Groves.
Dyer has collected more than 230 petitions and says it's unrealistic to ask people running horses to get off and clean up the waste.
She says it's dangerous.
"Having cars go past, you are just asking for an accident and what's a little manure on the road, compared to a death," said Dyer.
She also says people that live in that part of the county realize that it's very agricultural. But some have expressed concern over the waste in the road.
The Brevard County commissioners have been discussing the issue and it's expected to be discussed Tuesday morning at the next meeting in Viera.
