ORLANDO -- Shannon Burke, the radio host accused of shooting his wife and her dog, is still hopeful he won't have to go in front of a jury.

Burke and his attorney were hoping to have the case closed Wednesday, but his attorney says they are still working with the state's attorney’s office on a resolution.

They say they still feel they will be able to resolve the case without a trial.

"We're hoping to work out a resolution. I'm sure that resolution is going to have some type of sanctions to Mr. Burke, but we don't know yet," said Mark O’Mara, Burke’s attorney.

Burke says the show is going great and Stephen Baldwin will be on his show this weekend.

Burke will be back in court Dec. 2.  That's when Burke and his attorney hope to have everything done.
