CLERMONT -- The battle over a red light district in south Lake County continues.
Tuesday night, the debate took a new turn as Clermont officials met to try and develop an ordinance as to where the district could be set up.
Clermont's planning and zoning board met in front of a standing room only crowd.
The city says they have to craft an ordinance to keep adult oriented shops from setting up wherever they want and confine them to a certain area.
Concerned residents though are worried that such an ordinance will put adult business in their backyard.
"If this goes through these houses right here are in permanent limbo. People will not buy these houses because they will fear an adult business will come. People will not buy my business because they will fear and adult business is coming,” said day care owner Kathryn Sutherin.
Four areas in Clermont are being considered. Most of the attention though is being focused on Clermont Commons, a business park with doctors’ offices, day care centers and a church.
