11/29/09 - A snowy lawn in Florida? For a price, it could be yours.

Additional Information

TAMPA -- Snow may not be in Florida’s forecast, but white stuff is starting to show up on some Tampa Bay area lawns.

Local company VIP Pest Control said it is offering a snow service, where homeowners can have a white lawn, even on a hot Florida day.

The painted snow can stick for up to 6 weeks, as long as it gets 48 hours to dry. It’s the same water-based paint used to draw the lines on football and soccer fields.

Customers can also have organic mosquito control included in the application.

Sadie Gamble said she was sold on the idea, and paid $150 to get a white lawn, hoping to score some points with her snowscape.

“This can give you a one-up on your neighbors,” she said.
