ORLANDO -- Sarah Palin made a pair of stops in Central Florida Tuesday as part of her nationwide book tour for her newly released autobiography, “Going Rogue: An American Life.”

The former Alaska arrived to an excited crowd in The Villages Tuesday afternoon, and then headed for another anxious crowd of supporters in Orlando Tuesday night at a Barnes and Noble.

Central Floridians eager to meet Palin started lining up early Tuesday morning, and even as early as Monday evening, nearly 24 hours before Palin was scheduled to arrive.

The turnout was so large, the stores said they had to limit the number of people inside for the event.

Managers at the Orlando store gave out wristbands to the first people in line at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Most of the people waiting in line told News 13 they were firm Palin supporters.

“The opportunity to have book signed is a neat thing, but just the chance to show her that support,” said Marge Caron. “There is a big conservative movement right now, and I appreciate the fact that she is willing to stand.”

“She intrigues me, and I appreciate someone who speaks her mind and is a conservative woman, especially when it comes to fiscal responsibility,” said Justin Crow. “I think in this day in age, especially with what is going on in Washington and on the state level, we need that type of voice to be heard.”

The book gives a behind-the-scenes look at Palin’s campaign as the Republican Party’s vice presidential candidate.

Aside from the buzz, the new book has already had its fair share of controversy. Palin uses the book to air grievances with Sen. John McCain’s campaign team.
