Mom Accused Of Watching Boy Smother Baby Brother

TITUSVILLE -- A mother faces charges of attempted murder after police said she admitted to watching her young son smother his baby brother.
Christina McIntyre, 23, told authorities that she watched her 2-year-old son put several blankets and a bean bag chair on the 11-month-old infant.
When the baby stopped breathing, McIntyre said she did nothing. She said at the time, she thought life would be easier if the baby boy was dead.
In a Probable Cause affidavit, McIntyre told police she wanted to go back to work and could not afford to put both children in day care.
The affidavit showed McIntyre waited to call 911, and text-messaged her boyfriend before calling authorities.
Both children were placed in the care of the Department of Children and Families. The infant was reportedly doing OK.
McInyre faces chargse of attempted murder, aggravated child abuse and neglect.
