ORLANDO -- On Thursday night, a composite sketch of the man accused of trying to abduct three little girls walking home from an elementary school near MetroWest was released.
Investigators said the girls, ages 5, 8 and 9, were walking by themselves from Eagle’s Nest Elementary School to meet up with their mother along Kirkman Road, when they said a man approached them, claiming their mother wanted him to pick them up instead.
The girls ran back toward school, while the man fled the scene.
Suspect Description
- Dark-skinned man in his 30s
- Heavy-set, balding
- Wearing glasses
- Silver tooth
The man was seen driving a black, four-door Toyota on the 1800 block of Kirkman Road.
Police said the vehicle had a green, purple and yellow bead necklace hanging over the rear view mirror.
Parents News 13 spoke with had different opinions on what the school and police should do to patrol outside the school.
“Once they get to the complex, everybody knows everybody. So you’d know if somebody grabbed a kid,” said Sherry Scott, a parent.
“The school teaches them, but we as parents got to teach them to be aware of what dangers are in the real world,” said parent Carlos Inocencio.
Police were outside the school Thursday, as usual, enforcing traffic laws.
Parents were told school officials were re-enforcing lessons about stranger danger, and who is authorized to pick up children.
