Disney’s Space Mountain Closing Temporarily

LAKE BUENA VISTA -- A famous Walt Disney World Attraction is getting a makeover.
On Wednesday, Disney said Space Mountain will shut down this spring for what they are describing as a months-long "refreshment" of the 34-year-old Magic Kingdom roller coaster.
The ride will close April 19, just after the Easter holiday, through the busy summer time season.
The construction work will include installing new tracks inside the enclosed coaster.
The Orlando Sentinel reported this is the first substantial work on the ride since September 1999.
