GENEVA -- A firefighter and another man were injured in a mobile home fire Saturday morning.
The fire started around 9:30 a.m. on the 3200 block of West State Road 46.
The family who lived in the home said they were cooking breakfast Saturday morning, when they heard several noises from their garage.
When they went out to investigate, they saw the garage engulfed in flames.
The family was able to get out with their dog and two cats.
Firefighters told News 13 it was very difficult to put out the fire, because sparks and explosions kept going off as they were battling the blaze.
"We actually had propane tanks, acetylene torches and tanks that were going off," said Lt. Dave Williams, with the Seminole County Fire Department. "One of the explosions sent debris to a neighboring house. There was a small fire on top of their house as well."
Firefighters also put out the small fire at the second home.
The garage of the first home was destroyed, and the house was deemed unlivable by fire crews.
The state fire marshal is expected to arrive at the scene to investigate.
The firefighter and homeowner who were injured were both expected to recover.
The family is staying with extended family members while they choose to either rebuild or find a new place to live.
