MINNEOLA -- A city councilman has resigned after city workers said they found thousands of pornographic pictures on his city-issued laptop.
Earlier this week, council members were told to turn in their laptops for a routine software upgrade. It was during that upgrade that the pictures were discovered on Joe Teri's hard drive.
He's since resigned, and his computer was turned over to the sheriff's office for further investigation.
Mayor David Yeager said the incident came as a surprise.
"Mr. Teri is a good man and this is something that happened and we'll work through this,” said Yeager.
Teri has served on Minneola's city council since 2003.
