Woman Found Bloodied, Beaten Blames Voodoo Cult
Wednesday, September 24, 2008 7:20:41 AM
PALM COAST -- A Palm Coast woman found beaten and lying on the side of the road in St. Johns County said members of a voodoo cult are responsible.
According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Michelle Wood was found covered in blood with both eyes swollen shut early Monday. The police report states five men and a woman tied a rope around Wood’s right wrist. They also tied a bungee cord around her left ankle.
Wood said she used a pocket knife to cut the rope off her wrist after the Sunday attack.
Wood told investigators she was once a member of a Santeria voodoo group in Flagler County, but since she left to join the Christian faith, she has been threatened, abducted and beaten.
