Additional Information

ORLANDO --  Casey Anthony has entered a written plea of not guilty on the formal charges filed against her by the state attorney's office.

On Tuesday, Anthony was charged with felony child neglect in the case of her missing 2-year-old daughter Caylee.  She was also charged with filing a false report.

The Orange County Clerk of Courts Web site lists Aug. 21 as Anthony's arraignment date for those charges.

She remains locked up on more than $500,000 bond.

Her brother, Lee, was scheduled to visit Anthony at the Orange County jail Thursday, but the Orange County Corrections Department told News 13 Lee Anthony rescheduled the visitation for Friday morning.  The reason as to why the change was requested is unknown.

Casey’s mom, Cindy Anthony cancelled a visit earlier this week. She said what she needed to discuss with her daughter was personal and she was worried about safety concerns with visits being recorded.

Bags Of Evidence Removed From Home

Investigators returned to the house on Hopespring Drive around 2 p.m. Wednesday to collect additional evidence.  Deputies arrived at the house with a search warrant in hand and stayed for four hours.

Around 3 p.m., one investigator walked into the home with a black briefcase.  Half an hour later, a second investigator entered the home with several documents.

Some investigators wearing gloves pulled about a dozen small bags of evidence from the home.

Investigators did admit they were collecting evidence from the scene, but they did not specify what they were looking for or why.

Detectives said the Anthony's were cooperative.

"We executed a search warrant today. We met with the Anthony's today. The meeting was not contentious. The fact that we were here today doesn't mean anybody is a suspect," said Orange County sheriff Sgt. John Allen.

George and Cindy Anthony left the home shortly after deputies did, but did not comment on the new search.

Last week, investigators removed several large brown paper bags from the Anthony home.  George Anthony, Caylee's grandfather, told reporters the evidence removed were gas cans.

He said those cans were found in his daughter's trunk after he had reported them missing from his shed on June 24.

Anthony Family Looks For 2 Assistants

The Anthony family is now looking for two personal assistants in their search for Caylee.

On their MySpace.com pages, the family posted two volunteer positions -- one to assist George Anthony and the other to assist Lee Anthony.

The job has some stiff qualifications.

The posting states volunteers need to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and says the assistant must be willing to travel, even out of state. Each position would have various tasks.

George’s assistant would help coordinate volunteer efforts, while Lee's would be responsible for running errands and updating Web pages.

The family is also seeking volunteers to continue to hand out fliers.

Formal Charges Filed

The State Attorney's Office has filed formal charges against Caylee Anthony's mother.

Casey Anthony has been in jail on a felony child neglect charge and a misdemeanor charge of filing a false police report. She was formally charged with those crimes by the State Attorney's Office Tuesday.

Casey is still not charged in the disappearance of her 2-year-old daughter, who has not been seen in weeks. However, prosecutors called her a person of interest, and said she is not cooperating.

Police said Casey lied to them, and did not report Caylee missing until more than a month after the toddler disappeared.

Cindy: Charges 'A Good Thing'

Casey's mother, Cindy Anthony, said Tuesday’s charges are actually good news.

“It's a good thing,” Cindy said. “Look what they charged her with. They didn't charge her with anything but voluntary child neglect and withholding evidence. If they had anything concrete on her, I think they would have used that today.”

Cindy was scheduled to visit Casey in jail on Tuesday, but said that after consulting with attorney Jose Baez and her family, she decided against it.

She told reporters that she felt if she visited Casey in jail, it could jeopardize Caylee's safety because the visits and conversations are recorded and made public, which is something she said could put Caylee's safety in danger.

Meanwhile, Casey’s brother, Lee, has a visit scheduled for Thursday.

Family Hopes To Have Caylee Home For Birthday

Caylee turns 3 years old Saturday. Her grandfather has said repeatedly that he hopes to have her home safe in time for her birthday. They had already planned a trip to Disney and a party before the girl was reported missing.

Investigators said Monday they are waiting for the results of FBI lab testing on some evidence they collected in the case, but said they may not release those results based on what they reveal.

There have also been reports someone involved with this case may be asking for immunity. But so far, investigators and the State Attorney's Office will not confirm that.
