FLAGLER COUNTY -- A jury recommended death for the man convicted of kidnapping and killing a Daytona Beach grandmother.
A Flagler County jury voted 9 to 3 on the death recommendation for Cornelius Baker.
Earlier this week, the same jury found Baker guilty of taking Elizabeth Uptagrafft out of her Daytona Beach home last year and shooting her in Flagler County.
Baker apologized to the family and jury on Wednesday. Uptagrafft's family asked the jury for the death penalty.
Circuit Judge Kim Hammond will make the final decision on the sentencing at a future hearing.
