With Rising Waters Comes Rise In Mosquitoes

Complaints about mosquitoes are on the rise across Central Florida, but Seminole County said it is doing more than most people think to keep the pests in check. (7/09/08)

DAYTONA BEACH -- With every passing day following Tropical Storm Fay comes more and more mosquitoes as the conditions continue to be ideal for the pests.

Counties all across Central Florida are getting a game plan together for the expected increase.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal spoke with Volusia County's main mosquito fighter, who predicted the skeeters could get as bad as the days following the 2004 hurricanes.

The Florida Department of Health encourages people to take the following precautions against mosquitoes:
