NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Baby sea turtles are turning out to be another casualty of Fay.
It’s turtle nesting season along the coast, but the whipping rains and winds from the storm have left many of those baby turtles displaced.
The nests are buried under layers of sand.
Turtle monitors have been out on the beach checking on turtle nests up and down the Florida coast. Some turtles were taken from Volusia County Wednesday.
Rescue workers said the turtles will be relocated until the storm passes, then they will be released back into the ocean.
