Additional Information

TITUSVILLE -- Crews continue trying to raise a crane sitting on the Indian River's floor after an accident Monday.

The crane is causing environmental concerns and headaches for those who use the Titusville Marina.

The accident happened Monday, when a barge carrying a crane sank, and the crane collapsed, spilling about 100 gallons of fuel into the water.

Since then, crews have been trying to raise the barge and crane, with little success.

The work has been attracting daily spectators.

"It's entertaining for us," said Paul Raulerson, a spectator watching the cleanup effort. Not so entertaining for them, I would think. Frustrating, I'm sure, very. They'll get it out of here one way or the other, either by blowing it up or dragging it."

Officials said the material's size, as well as holes in the boat, have made the job tough.
