TALLAHASSEE -- State Farm officials will go before Florida insurance regulators to request a raise in its rates by nearly 50 percent.
Florida's largest private property insurer said it is losing money in the state, and since 2000 has paid out more than it has earned.
The company has roughly 1 million customers in Florida.
State regulators denied a request in July by Florida Farm Bureau for a 28 percent increase.
