TALLAHASSEE -- A state Board of Education meeting later in the year could mean some changes for physical education classes across Florida.
Sixth-graders could be required to take gymnastics or dance classes, and high school students may have the option of enrolling in a gun safety class or going water skiing to fulfill a physical education requirement.
If the Board of Education adopts the changes at its meeting in October, the requirements would take effect in the 2009-10 school year.
