ORLANDO -- Universal Orlando's newest attraction, The Simpsons Ride, has been named the best new theme park attraction in the world by the Web site Theme Park Insider.
The Web site is a consumer's guide to the world's most popular amusement parks, written by the consumers, themselves.
Over 75,000 registered users voted in a year-long rating of thousands of attractions around the world.
The Simpsons Ride officially opened in May 2008. It beat out Toy Story Midway Mania at Disney's Hollywood Studios, which also opened in May.
Universal's popular Mythos Restaurant also received recognition, earning the award for the world's best theme park restaurant for the sixth year in a row.
