Additional Information

TITUSVILLE -- Work began Wednesday to remove a toppled crane and barge that tipped into the Indian River at the Titusville Marina on Monday.

The crane and barge spilled about 100 gallons of fuel into the water.

On Tuesday, the crew pulled up smaller items like an air compressor, a generator and hand tools. Coast Guard Lt. Walter Hoppe said the weather played a major role in the amount of cleanup that was completed.

The Coast Guard is investigating to see if drain water caused the accident or if there had been some negligence on the part of the crane owners.
