You Can Help Save Sea Turtles
Wednesday, July 23, 2008 8:35:38 AM
BREVARD COUNTY -- A new volunteer program has been hatched to help sea turtles.
The program is designed to get a few more people to keep an eye out for stranded sea turtles.
Typically the turtles hatch, make their way to the ocean and live about 20 miles out on a floating bed of sea weeds.
But some wash back to shore and are usually exhausted and in need of rehabilitation before they are released.
No training date has been set yet for volunteers, but if you are interested, contact the Sea Turtle Preservation Society.
