ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) -- An Altamonte Springs police officer and his wife have been arrested on federal drug and weapons charges.
Authorities said Clay T. Adams also was planning to kill a former drug unit supervisor.
A judge agreed Tuesday that Adams and his wife, Robyn, should be held without bond. Prosecutors said both defendants had made threats against an informant and others in the case.
Federal authorities said Adams ran a marijuana grow-house operation that supplied distributors in Tallahassee and dealt illegal prescription drugs. They also said Adams provided weapons to an informant who is a convicted felon.
The U.S Attorney's Office reports the couple faces up to life in prison, if convicted.
