MELBOURNE -- A possible hate crime investigation is under way after someone spray painted messages of hate on a 100-year-old church.
Members with the Macedonia Baptist Church, on Lipscomb Street, said when they arrived at the church, they found messages such as "KKK," "666," and racially derogatory comments painted across the building.
Members immediately took action and began cleaning up the mess.
"We'll get over it," said Ray Lee, a member of the church. "We are a community, a church that works hard to serve the community. We reach out to many families. We were kind of dismayed when it happened, but we are going to continue to serve the community. That's what God put us here for."
The case is under investigation.
