TALLAHASSEE -- Floridians accustomed to a 10-day sales tax holiday on back-to-school supplies will not benefit from the holiday this year.
Economic woes forced Florida lawmakers to ax the popular break from the state's 6 percent sales tax.
Lawmakers also did away with a similar tax holiday in hurricane supplies.
Floridians saved $41 million during the tax holiday in 2007.
Experts give the following advice if you want to save money when shopping for school supplies:
- Set a budget.
- Shop early, so you can find the good deals.
- Look for kits. They could save you cash.
