ORLANDO -- A judge declined to issue a temporary injunction Friday that would allow Edwin Sotomayor to get his Walt Disney World security officer job back.

Sotomayor was fired earlier July 7 after he brought a gun to work in his locked car.

He brought the gun to work, as a protest of Disney's contention that a new state law does not apply to most of the resort.

Judge Thomas Turner scheduled a hearing on a permanent injunction for Oct. 16, while the court tries to decide whether Disney has the right to ban employees from keeping guns locked in their vehicles. He also requested the Attorney General get involved.
