MIAMI -- Parents in Florida can buy college tuition for their children at today's rates under the prepaid plan, now one Florida company is trying to apply the same theory to gasoline.
At MyGallons.com, people can log on and prepay for gallons of gas at today's prices. The customer then gets a special card that he or she can use at certain gas stations.
No matter what the station's price, they will still pay the price they were locked into.
MyGallonscom already has more than 6,000 members across the country, but it has run into a problem
"The problem started when US Bank decided not to honor the contract we have to utilize their system," said Steve Verona, of MyGallons.com
U.S. Bank is the company that's supposed to make the cards. U.S. Bank said their job was to make some cards for another company owned by the Web site's creator.
MyGallons.com is now trying to get the cards with another company.
