OCALA -- Some changes coming to the Ocala National Forest would eliminate 2,000 miles of trails that had been made available for all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles.
The U.S. Forestry Service plans to open to add a 45-mile, off-highway vehicle trail, called Centennial Trial.
With the opening of the new, officially maintained trail, ATV and motorcycle riders would not be allowed on the undesignated trails and roads in the forest.
Also unlike the current system, riders will have to pay a fee.
The Centennial Trail was named in honor of the 100th anniversary of the forest, in November.
