PALM BAY -- A Brevard County teacher went before a judge Thursday to face charges of having sex with a student.
Adrienne Laflamme, 60, is facing 15 counts of unlawful sex with a minor.
Investigators said she met the 17-year-old while teaching at the Juvenile Detention Center in Sharpes and then developed a relationship with the teen.
Investigators also said she did drugs with the teen and then asked him to lie about the whole thing.
Laflamme's Palm Bay neighbors said this doesn't seem like the woman they knew.
“She's been a real nice lady,” said Tami Henry, a neighbor. “Kids walk by all the time to school and she's never said anything.”
“Never thought anything like this would ever happen to her,” said Robert Willis, another neighbor.
