ORLANDO -- A University of Central Florida football player spent part of his weekend in jail.
Police said he was responsible for thousands of dollars worth of vandalism to the school.
Richard Kay is a sophomore running back originally from Deltona.
UCF police said he was part of a group that caused $5,000 worth of damage to Tower 4 on the campus.
Police said Kay admitted to hitting and punching signs and pipes in a stairwell of a parking garage. One of the pipes burst, causing the whole place to flood.
He was charged with two felonies related to the vandalism.
