ORLANDO -- The city is leading a nationwide effort to ban bottled water.
The city is one of more than a dozen major cities banning bottled water for city workers.
Supporters said the water isn't just expensive, but making the bottles and transporting them uses too much oil.
They said the tap water that many have shunned for years is actually perfectly fine.
“I think tap water is safe I have no problem with that, especially with all the budget cuts right now," said Doug Jamison.
Other cities are considering similar bans.
It will be presented Saturday at the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Miami.
