DAYTONA BEACH -- Another name change is in store for the school once known as Daytona Beach Community College.
Just three weeks after changing its name to "Daytona Beach College," the school said it would now go by "Daytona State College." View the press release.
The school board hoped the newest name would attract more students.
A new bill creates a new state college system, consisting of the nine community colleges that offer four-year degrees.
College leaders did enough advance work on the name change to announce they were close to finalizing a deal that would change the call letters of the college's PBS Channel 15 from WCEU to WDSC, and change the school's Web domain to DSC.edu.
