MySpace Beating (2, 4/8)

Additional Information

POLK COUNTY -- The Polk County State Attorney's Office has dropped charges against three of the teens charged in the videotaped beating of a cheerleader.

According to our Bright House Networks affiliate Bay News 9, prosecutors dropped kidnapping and battery charges against Stephen Schumaker, Zachary Ashley and Cara Murphy because of a lack of evidence.

The teens were part of a group of eight that were seen beating a 16-year-old cheerleader for a half an hour after she allegedly made slurs and insults against them on a MySpace page.

Five other teens are still facing charges.
