A man and woman nicknamed Bonnie and Clyde by sheriff's deputies were taken into custody after a wild ride in Orange County Thursday.

Additional Information

ORANGE COUNTY -- A woman, who was part of a couple accused in a crime spree, did not appear for a scheduled court hearing Friday because of a medical problem.

Erika Hein, 38, along with Andrew Gaskell, 29, were arrested Thursday after a two-hour chase by Orange County deputies.

A jail spokesperson did not disclose the nature of Hein's illness, citing medical privacy rules.

She's rescheduled to appear in court this weekend.

Gaskell was ordered held without bond.

The couple, dubbed "Bonnie and Clyde," were suspects in several car thefts and other crimes in Orange and Seminole counties.

They were spotted driving a stolen car Thursday afternoon, and led police on an extensive chase.

Deputies said the two committed the crimes to support their drug habit.
