ORLANDO -- Central Florida honored some of its history makers Wednesday night in Orlando.
This year's winner of the John Young History Maker award was Charles Gray of the legal firm GrayRobinson.
Gray was a driving force in pushing some of Central Florida's biggest projects, including Walt Disney World, and the Interstate 4-Florida Turnpike interchange.
Gray is the fourth Central Floridian to receive award. Previous winners were Toni Jennings in 2007, Joe Kittinger in 2006 and John Young in 2005.
This year, the committee that selects the recipient added two more awards.
The Past History Maker award went to Dr. Phillip Phillips, a citrus magnate and philanthropist.
The Future History Maker award went to a young person just starting out -- Eliya Wing.
Wing is a graduating senior and honor roll student at Apopka high school. She will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology and will major in aerospace engineering.
"If you saw this young woman's resume, you would be dumbfounded by what she has accomplished. We're looking at a real history maker in the making," said John Young.
