LAKELAND -- The seven Polk County teens accused of attacking a 16-year-old girl have entered not guilty pleas.

All but 18-year-old Stephen Schumaker entered their pleas yesterday. He is expected to plead at a hearing Tuesday.

The eight teens are facing kidnapping and battery charges. The other suspects include Mercades Nichols, 17, April Cooper, 14, Brittany Mayes, 17, Brittini Hardcastle, 17, Cara Murphy, 16, and Zachary Ashley, 17, all of Lakeland, as well as Kayla Hassall, 15, of Mulberry.

According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the six girls beat up Victoria Lindsey March 30 at a Lakeland home and threatened to post the video on YouTube and MySpace.
