PALM BAY -- A worker at a chemical manufacturing company is dead following an explosion.

The explosion took place Wednesday at Far Chemical Inc. on Wilhemina Court in Palm Bay.

Palm Bay police said the 60-year-old employee was trying to neutralize a chemical byproduct and dispose of it. That is when it exploded.

Investigators have not released the worker's name.
