OCOEE -- News 13 has learned a 22-month-old boy who was shot and killed in March after getting hold of a gun had illegal drugs in his system at the time of his death.
Tyler Rodgers's father, Dontavious Rodgers, 24, said the boy got a hold of the gun after he put it between a mattress and box spring, then fell asleep.
The gun then went off when the father woke up and tried to get it away from the toddler.
Autopsy reports revealed Tyler had trace amounts of cocaine in his urine.
Ocoee police began investigating whether Dontavious Rodgers would face additional charges.
Rodgers was already charged with manslaughter and illegal gun possession. See previous story.
