ORLANDO -- An Orange County Sheriff's deputy was recovering Sunday morning allegedly being choked while trying to arrest a robbery suspect.
Deputies said they were responding to an armed robbery call on Holmes Drive Saturday night, when they spotted the vehicle involved and chased it.
The chase did not last long, as the rental car ended up in a ditch near Silver Star Road.
The three suspects in the car got out and ran, but Deputy Chris Miller caught one of them. That suspect was accused of strangling the deputy.
Miller dislocated his finger in the attack and nearly passed out.
"The deputy started to black out before he was finally able to get the individual off of him," said Carlos Padilla, a spokeman for the Orange County Sheriff's Office
Deputies were able to arrest one of the three men. The 17-year-old is now facing charges, while the other two remain at large.
Sheriff's investigators released a sketch of the suspect (pictured right) accused of choking the deputy.
Anyone who knew any information about who or where the suspects are was urged to contact CrimeLine, at (800) 423-TIPS.
