ORLANDO -- Police have been investigating the murder of a woman who was shot and killed early Saturday.
Police said Selina Ellis, 40, who was shot around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, went to a home in the 4600 block of Edgemoor Street to look for her son.
Ellis was shot after a fight broke out, which stemmed from an incident earlier at a nightclub. The fight did not involve her, who was being called an innocent bystander.
"She got a phone call that things were going on here," a neighbor of the woman said. "She just probaly came to make sure, because she loves her kids, and knowing it's close to her, she came to make sure her kids were okay. She just got caught up with something innocently."
Police are still looking for suspects in the shooting.
They are also looking for several vehicles that were last seen leaving the area of the shooting:
- Blue Ford Expedition
- Tan Buick or Mazda
- Red or maroon Ford Crown Victoria
- White, four-door Sedan
Anyone with information on the shooting, or any of the four vehicles described above, was urged to contact CrimeLine at (800) 423-TIPS.
