LAKE BUENA VISTA -- A new attraction at Walt Disney World will give tourists a closer look at the fury of a hurricane.

StormStruck: The Tale of Two Homes is scheduled to open in the Innoventions pavilion at Epcot in August.

Disney said exhibit visitors will wear 3-D glasses and watch as their "safe house" is lashed by a hurricane and begins to break up around them.

They then have to race against the clock to decide how to rebuild the home more safely.

The purpose of the ride is to educate homeowners about how homes are built, and how they can be hurricane safe.

The ride is based on two homes in Punta Gorda that faced damage during Hurricane Charley in 2004.

Charley caused 10 deaths and $15.4 billion in damage as it swept up the state from Southwest Florida to Daytona Beach, including Orlando.
