ORLANDO -- The man convicted of burning his teenage girlfriend to death was sentenced to the death penalty.
A judge followed a jury's recommendations when she sentenced Dane Abdool, 21, Monday.
He was convicted earlier this year of dousing Amelia Sookdeo, 17, with gasoline and then lighting her on fire because he thought she was pregnant.
An autopsy later revealed she wasn't.
According to the Department of Corrections, Abdool is now one of the youngest prisoners on Florida's death row.
