COCOA -- A police officer was forced to shoot and kill a pitt bull Sunday.
Police received a 911 call at about 9 a.m. about a pit bull pinning a woman in her car in the area of Paw Paw and Bernard streets.
When officers arrived, the dog ran away, but while police were helping the woman, the pit bull came back and charged at an officer.
The officer fired once at the dog, killing it.
The woman was not injured.
An investigation of the incident was ongoing.
