ORLANDO -- A sport utility vehicle pulled from a pond near Gatorland was found to have been empty.
According to the Orange County Fire Department, a call came into the Florida Highway Patrol around 5 a.m. Tuesday morning that a vehicle had driven into the body of water near Gatorland Drive off Orange Blossom Trail.
Troopers are working on the theory that the Lexus SUV was stolen at some point, and then driven into the pond in an effort to get rid of it.
They are now studying the vehicle for any clues.
