DAYTONA BEACH -- An Ormond Beach doctor was arrested in Daytona Beach after officers said he pretended to be a cop.

Dr. Jerrold Ecklind, 37, broke up an argument between a man and woman Sunday night in the parking lot of the Basilica of St. Paul Church.

The geriatric specialist reportedly told the man he was a policeman, and asked the man for identification.

At one point, police said Ecklind pointed a gun at the man and handcuffed him.

The victim managed to write down Ecklind's license plate number, and call 911.

Ecklind is facing several charges.
