NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- For the second time this weekend, a surfer was attacked by a shark in New Smyrna Beach.
The beach patrol said a 24-year-old man stepped off his surfboard in chest deep water Sunday and was bitten on his calf.
The victim's injuries were not described as serious.
On Saturday, another man had to undergo surgery after a shark bit his foot.
Lifeguards said conditions were ripe for more shark attacks, especially near the jetty in New Smyrna Beach.
Sky 13 captured sharks and swimmers just feet apart in the water on April 22.
